Gasoline:
This t rip involves 127 miles of unpaved road and soft sand and 47 miles of highway for a total of 174 miles. There are NO gas stat ions on the Old Mohave Road! You MUST carry enough gas for the full 174 miles PLUS a reasonable reserve. I recommend that Range Rovers and Discos carry a minimum of five (5) gallons and D-90s 10 gallons extra fuel.

A lit t le history about Mojave Road:
Used by I ndians to t ransport goods from the southwest to t rade with the Chumash and other coatal t ribes, this route later served the cause of westward expansion. Military forts were established along the route
to protect key water sources and provide assistance for t ravelers. Today it is a popular four-wheel drive road.
